Message	I've run pumps in the configuration you describe except I run both pumps at the same time using a dual pump controller. This prevents fuel starvation when tracking the car. Setting base fuel pressure isn't an issue when using the pump controller to reduce pump speed, and also using an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator that has sufficient bypass capacity.
